PM Modi Russia Visit: Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has reached Russia. Upon PM Narendra Modi’s arrival in Moscow, he was welcomed by Russia’s First Deputy Prime Minister Denis Manturov. During this he was given a guard of honour. PM Modi is on a two-day official visit to Russia. He will hold the 22nd India-Russia Annual Summit with President Putin in Moscow. Earlier, India’s Ambassador to Russia Vinay Kumar had said that Prime Minister Modi’s visit to Russia and his talks with President Vladimir Putin will focus on some new areas of bilateral trade and economic ties, science and technology research. He expressed confidence that the talks would yield concrete results in many areas.

21 annual summits have taken place
Let us tell you that this is PM Modi’s first visit to Russia in almost five years. He last visited Russia in 2019. So far, 21 annual summits have been held one by one in India and Russia. The last summit was held in New Delhi on December 6, 2021. President Vladimir Putin had come to India to participate in this summit.
Trade increased between India and Russia
The Indian Embassy in Russia said that according to Commerce Department data, bilateral trade has reached an all-time high of US $ 65.70 billion in the financial year 2023-24. Major items exported from India include pharmaceuticals, organic chemicals, electrical machinery and mechanical equipment, iron and steel. Major items imported from Russia include oil and petroleum products, fertilizers, mineral resources, precious stones and metals, vegetable oils, etc.
