Prime Minister Narendra Modi On Thursday, a devotee of Lord Shri Krishna reached Mathura to participate in the ‘Meerabai Janmotsav’ on the occasion of the 525th birth anniversary of poetess Mirabai. Here PM Modi reached Shri Krishna Janmabhoomi temple and worshiped and had darshan in the sanctum sanctorum. He went to the upper floor of Bhagwat Bhawan. A total of 17 people including PM Modi, Governor Anandiben Patel, CM Yogi, priest performed puja at Bhagwat Bhawan.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will also release a special postage stamp and coin in honor of Mirabai. Will participate in a cultural program to be organized on this occasion. This program will also mark the beginning of year-long programs in memory of Mirabai. Mirabai is known for her devotion to Lord Krishna and composed many hymns and verses, which are popular even today.
Strict security arrangements were made for Prime Minister Modi in Mathura. There are security personnel at every nook and corner and barricading has been done at the intersections.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that in the last 9 years the country has seen a new India, whose prestige has increased on the international stage. The new India is proud of its heritage.

On this occasion, BJP MP and actress Hema Malini said that under the leadership of PM Modi, I have also welcomed Mathura very much as the MP of Mathura. There is no place greater than our Braj Dham where Krishna took birth and performed many pastimes.
