UAE Hindu Temple: A diplomat of the United Arab Emirates has made a big revelation regarding the UAE temple. He said that during a visit in 2015, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi had requested for a Hindu temple in the Gulf country. President Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan agreed to build the Hindu temple in just ‘five minutes’.

Anwar Mohammed Gargash, diplomatic advisor to the UAE President, was speaking during a lecture in New Delhi on Friday. He told that ‘When Prime Minister Narendra Modi (UAE) came, he requested to give land to the Indian community for the construction of a grand Hindu temple.’ Gargash told the audience that we saw this demand as an initial test of the relationship.

Gargash has also served as the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs of UAE from 2008 to 2021. He told that after agreeing, Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed said, ‘Let’s find the right place.’ Gargash said that the construction of this temple was like an ‘undiscovered olive garden’. Gargash said these things while expressing surprise at the construction of a Hindu temple in the Arab Emirates. He said that the Hindu temple is a visible proof of the better relations between India and UAE.

The UAE diplomat said that Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed was acting as the leader of the UAE in 2015 due to the ill health of his brother and the country’s then President Sheikh Khalifa. Sheikh Mohammed became the President of UAE in the year 2022 and under his supervision, relations with New Delhi are still better.

PM Modi inaugurated BAPS temple
Prime Minister of India on 14 February Narendra Modi Inaugurates Hindu temple in Abu Dhabi during two-day visit. During this, UAE President Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed was also present. The foundation stone of this temple was also laid by PM Modi in the year 2018. The temple was built by the Bochasanwasi Akshar Purushottam Swaminarayan Sanstha (BAPS), a part of the Vaishnava sect of Hinduism.

The temple has been constructed on 27 acres of land, of which 13.5 acres is dedicated to the temple complex area. Another 13.5 acres has been allotted for parking, which can park 14,000 cars and 50 buses.
