A speeding vehicle hit a nail salon located in Long Island, New York. Schwali, 64, was driving a 2020 Cheely Traverse when his car crashed into the storefront of a nail salon. Due to the collision, the entire glass of the salon was broken and the roof also collapsed. Several people were present at the nail salon during the incident, including Emilia Reinhack, 30, an officer with the New York City Police Department. Four people including a policeman died on the spot. Police say that the car driver was in an intoxicated state.
The car driver has been taken into custody, accused of driving under the influence. He was taken to Good Samaritan University Hospital in West Islip. The doctor said his injuries were not serious. Police say additional charges are pending against him. According to media reports, policeman Emilia had gone to the salon to get ready for a wedding dinner. Diner Park Third Assistant Chief Dominic Albanese said the victims were trapped inside. Everyone was inside the salon. It was a very horrifying scene.
