The local people want Nepal to run under one order and control i.e. their king. They want a Hindu state, not a state that is close to China as a colony. The monarchy ended in 2008
The monarchy that had been going on for 240 years in Nepal came to an end in 2008. After a civil war that lasted for about ten years, the power in the country continued to slip from the hands of the Shah dynasty. After this the Maoists joined the main stream of the country’s politics. In May 2008, Nepal’s leftist party won the elections. Then the then King Gyanendra was deposed and the country was declared a republic. In this way Nepal became a republic with the President as the head of state. Since then Gyanendra has been living as an ordinary citizen without any power or state protection. He still has some support among the people. The protesters also demanded that Nepal be made back a Hindu state. The Himalayan nation was declared a secular state by an interim constitution in 2007.
Murder of 9 people of the royal family
Amidst the demand for restoration of monarchy in Nepal, also know about the heart-wrenching incident that happened in the royal family. On June 1, 2001, there was a massive firing in the palace. In this incident, 9 members of the royal family were shot. The one who fired the bullet was none other than the son of the royal family, who would sit on the king’s throne in the future. In reality, this incident is not as straightforward as it seems. Answers to many questions about the massacre in Narayanhiti Palace have not been found yet.

Deependra opened fire while drunk
22 years ago, a party was going on in Tribhuvan Sadan of Narayanhiti Palace, in which more than a dozen people from the royal family including Maharaj Virendra, Queen Aishwarya were present. Prince Dipendra was hosting the party. When Deependra became very drunk, he was taken to his room. Around night eight Deependra suddenly came out of the room wearing army uniform and black gloves. He had an MPJ5K submachine gun in one hand and a Colt M-16 rifle in the other. There was a 9 mm pistol in his uniform. Deependra pointed the submachine gun towards Maharaj Virendra and pressed the trigger. Within a few minutes, dead bodies of many family members were laid there.
Why did Deependra commit this incident?
After that Deependra went out of the hall into the garden. His mother Maharani Aishwarya and Deependra’s younger brother Nirajan ran after him. Deependra also shot him dead, after which Deependra also shot himself near the pond in the garden. Gyanendra became the king of Nepal three days after the death of Maharaja Virendra and Prince Dipendra. According to a report, Deependra wanted to marry Devyani, but his uncle Virendra did not approve of it. At the same time, Devyani’s family also did not approve of this relationship. Deependra was not even getting the money he wanted to spend. After marrying Devyani, he was also threatened with ouster from the royal family. Because of which Deependra was quite disappointed. Out of this frustration he committed the murder.
